We were blessed with a great turnout... 125 people gave up their Saturday morning on 1/27/18 to learn & practice how they can help serve thousands of people - should a public health threat occur here in Metro-Atlanta. Representatives from Suwanee, Sugar Hill, Level Creek, Hamilton Mill & Riverside congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) were there as well as friends from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community & the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC-GEM). It was exciting to hear the comments during the "Hot Wash" feedback session. There were many comments about what worked & what can be improved, we had to stop so we can keep to our 4-hour training schedule. Bishop Burke Hunsaker of the Suwanee Congregation of LDS Church closed the training with the following thought: Today, we had the chance to simulate serving approximately 150 people. Even if we get to serve up to 20,000 people of the 1.1 Million here in Gwinnett, Newton, & Rockdale counties ... when we round it up... we still have 1.1 Million people to serve! We need YOUR HELP to get the word out to your friends of other faiths - they also need to be trained to become a POD. So what's next...Traffic & Crowd Control is the next training available for those who have signed up with the MRC-GEM. We need your help to get your friends from other churches, temples, synagogues & mosques learn to better prepare for future emergencies.
